For me, vintage has always had a special place in my heart... and
my closet. It started in first grade, showing up to school in my mom's
old sweaters and calling them dresses. Since then I've learned a lot.
Throughout the past ten years, I've worked in about every facet of the
retail industry, from styling for film and television in Los Angeles to
working in resale. I look at every job I've ever had as an opportunity to
learn what people really want. What makes shopping fun? What makes
customers feel good? What works? For me, it's clothes that are different,
affordable, and mesh well with the rest of my wardrobe. Nothing fits the
bill the way that vintage does. With a college degree in fashion
merchandising paired with years of hands-on experience, I've dedicated
myself to learning all about this amazing industry. Through personal
experiences, lots of travel, and the opinions of my stylish friends, I've
narrowed it down to what I think works best. I call it Vintage Casual.
Items from the 1950's to the early 1990's that are on trend and can be
styled with things we already own. My goal in creating Highway Robbery
is to make vintage as accessible as possible. It's for the seasoned
vintage shopper and the newbie. Hopefully you'll love it as much as I do!
